The Ohio Department of Agriculture has declared twenty-two Ohio counties natural disaster areas due to the on-going dry conditions plaguing the buckeye state. This declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Farm Service Agency (FSA) to offer emergency assistance to farm operations within these counties. Other designated areas in Ohio and West Virginia will also be eligible as continuous counties.

Emergency credits and loan assistance can be used to aid in recovery from the drought. The FSA will review loan requests once received and will be evaluating applications based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability. The deadline to apply for assistance is April 28, 2025.
